Five Decades, Five Visions

In 2015 Sutor did celebrate the creation of five Anniversary Editions dedicated to each proceeding decade since Mastroianni’s infamous eternalization of his shoes, and thus his timeless style, into Hollywood Boulevard.

Celebrating 50 years since Mastroianni’s Hollywood moment, Sutor Mantellassi presented five international designers to re-imagine the actor’s style essence.

The first act to this Anniversary Project was Justin Deakin, one of London’s most revered shoe designers. Next, acclaimed Japanese shoe designer Toshinosuke Takegahara who revealed his take on this iconic footwear, followed closely by creative director Scott Fellows and architect Craig Bassam. As Founders of Bassam Fellows, they brought a modern craftsman aesthetic into their very own Sutor Mantellassi model. Next, The Sartorialist founder Scott Schuman who built on his expertise as a much sought-after style photographer. The final designer Thomas Erber, a leading trend-setter of our time completed Sutor Mantellassi’s extensive celebration of Marcello Mastroianni.

Coming from various spheres of art, fashion and design, these exceptional creatives did unveil their personal vision for Sutor Mantellassi in a series of events throughout 2015. Every design is available in a limited edition series of 50 pairs.
