MM5: Thomas Erber pays tribute to the famous actor, icon of Italian style.

The project launched by Sutor Mantellassi in honour of Marcello Mastroianni has reached its fifth and last phase.

Thomas Erber, eclectic French journalist, is the fifth and last designer who has been asked to reinterpret the shoes Marcello Mastroianni wore 50 years ago, when he left his prints on Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, wearing a pair of Sutor Mantellassi shoes.

The shoe Mastroianni wore has already been reinterpreted by Justin Deakin (a shoe designer from London), by Scott Fellows with Craig Bassam (designers who founded BassamFellows), by Scott Schumann (The Sartorialist), and by Toshinosuke Takegahara (a Japanese shoe designer).

The MM5, designed by Thomas Erber, is constructed with a goodyear manufacturing. The shoe is made of cordovan, and alligator, and it is proposed in oxblood, with a red elastic band that enhances and complements the design , making the footwear contemporary. The 8mm sole double ambrisse trimmed makes the shoe unique.

Thomas Erber is one of the leading trend-setters of our time, and an international private consultant specialized in very special projects. Formerly a journalist and actively participating in the launch of l’Optimum and Jalouse, he later founded l’Officiel Voyage, became editor in chief for the lifestyle supplement of the newspaper Le Monde and a reporter for Vogue Hommes International. As a rock critic, special correspondent and journalist in the fields of culture, trends and travel, he has collaborated with many other publications. Today, Thomas Erber collaborated with brand as Bally, Cartier, BMW, Pernod Ricard, Les Bains, Kuoni, just to name a few. Every year, he continues to develop with passion his internationally acclaimed Cabinet de Curiosités de Thomas Erber in the world’s most prestigious cities.

MM5 will be exposed at Colette, in Parigi, starting from November 5th, when the shoe will be presented during an exclusive event at Hotel Les Bains.
